Homeopathy for Mother Infant and Child
Pregnancy Labour Birth and Post Natal
Are you searching for a safe form of natural remedies for you during your pregnancy, labour, birth and post natal that can benefit you and your baby?
Pregnancy gifts a perfect opportunity for improving the health of both mother and child.
The hormonal and metabolic changes that occur during these precious months prime the mother’s constitution for optimal performance in creating and giving birth to a new life. This enhancement of function renders the mother more susceptible to the beneficial influence of well-selected homeopathic remedies and at the same time presents clues for the attention of the prescriber indicating how best to prescribe.
Pre-existing, underlying weaknesses and family tendencies come to the surface, usually in the form of simple, though sometimes troublesome, symptoms and signs.
When correctly addressed, attending to these problems benefits not only the mother’s health but also that of her infant.
Dr David Lilley MBChB, FFHom will take you on the journey of
how homeopathic remedies can assist and empower you on your journey of pregnancy, birth and post natal

Homeopathy for Morning Sickness – Emesis Gravidarum
During the first three months (the first trimester) of pregnancy, it is common for the mother-to-be to experience what is termed morning sickness; though it may occur at any time of the day, varying in intensity from mild nausea to severe vomiting (hyperemesis gravidarum), which may cause marked loss of weight, dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Nausea usually starts around the 6th week of pregnancy, peaks by the 9th, and trails off from the 16th to the 18th week, though some may suffer longer, even to the very end of pregnancy.
For the baby’s sake it is important to avoid chemical remedies that suppress nausea. Fortunately, homeopathy offers a simple and natural means of curing what can be a very distressing symptom.Adapting the diet can be helpful in mild cases: sticking to bland foods, avoiding spicy, fatty, processed foods, and conles and salads.
Eating small, frequent snacks rather than large meals often helps. Adequate fluid intake is essential, especially filtered or spring water and fresh fruit juices and vegetable blends.
Homeopathic Remedy Sepia
Since hormonal changes are often implicated, Sepia, a remedy prepared from the ink of the cuttlefish, is probably one of the most successful morning sickness remedies. It is especially indicated in women who show marked increase in skin pigmentation during pregnancy, especially cheeks and forehead (chloasma), distinct darkening of the nipples, and pigmentation extending from the pubic area in a line up to the navel. They are often brunettes. For Sepia women, pregnancy may be an imposition, something that intrudes, interfering with how they planned their life – a cause of frustration, irritation and intolerance, taken out on their partner or family. Pregnancy blues may develop. An early symptom is often a craving for the very things they should not have – vinegar, acids, pickles and spicy foods.
Notable characteristics of their morning sickness:
· Nausea at the sight, smell or thought of food.
· Nausea in the morning before eating.
· Vomiting after eating.
· Empty, all-gone sensation in the stomach not relieved by eating.
· Burning in the pit of the stomach, acid dyspepsia, sour eructations (acid burping), bloated abdomen.

Reviews
Homoeopathy for mother, infant, and childsupported me in my pregnancy to effectively find remedies for my complaints.
The book is very easy to use - full of digestible information and beautifully
edited. I also found it useful for support for the more common complaints of
pregnancy and as a go-to when anything arose. I am still using it now with
babe. I would recommend this book for any expectant mama who wishes to use the
magic of homeopathy to support themselves and babe.Hannah and baby Amarla
